Ecox is a Portuguese project founded in the Coimbra region, built around a circular and regenerative approach to everyday cleaning. Originally developed from a research initiative linked to the University of Coimbra, the project focuses on transforming used cooking oil into eco-friendly detergents through an innovative upcycling process.
By collecting and revalorising this highly polluting waste, Ecox reduces environmental impact at the source while creating effective cleaning products with a lower footprint. This circular model also extends to packaging, promoting reuse and reducing single-use plastic through bulk distribution and refill systems.
Committed to sustainability, Ecox combines scientific innovation, local production, and community engagement to rethink how cleaning products are made and consumed. Through education, partnerships, and everyday products, the brand contributes to a broader transition toward a circular economy where waste is reintegrated into new production cycles.
